DENVER (AP) -Curtis Glencross scored twice, Miikka Kiprusoff had 29 saves and the Calgary Flames beat the Colorado Avalanche by a 4-2 count on Tuesday night to end a four-game losing streak.

David Moss and Mikael Backlund also scored and Rene Bourque had two assists for the Flames.

Brandon Yip and Chris Stewart scored for Colorado and Peter Budaj stopped 21 shots.

With time running out in regulation, the Flames turned up the pressure in Colorado's end and finally got the deciding tally. Budaj made the initial save on Niklas Hagman's close-in shot, but the puck squirted over to Moss, who knocked it in to make it 3-2 with 4:15 left.

Glencross made it 4-2 with an empty-net goal with 34 seconds remaining, his fifth of the year.

The game was tied at 1-1 when the Avalanche went on a 5-on-3 power play 20 seconds into the third period. Colorado kept the puck in the Calgary zone and cashed in when Stewart picked up Milan Hejduk's rebound and calmly lifted it over a sprawled Kiprusoff to make it 2-1 with his 10th goal of the season. It was the 100th point of the young forward's career (49g/51a).

Moments after Hagman was stopped on a chance in the third period, Backlund tied it on his third goal of the season with a shot from the left circle with 9:03 left.

The Avs scored first when they capitalized on an early power-play opportunity. With time running out on the man advantage, Jonas Holos' shot deflected off the skate of Yip just 4:13 into the first period. Yip's fourth goal of the year stood after a review.

The Flames got the equalizer on the power play when Glencross scored 36 seconds into the second period.

Notes: Avalanche forwards T.J. Galiardi (wrist) and David Van Der Gulik (knee) left the game in the second period and did not return. ... Flames D Jay Bouwmeester has the longest active consecutive games played streak (438) in the NHL. ... Glencross' goal in the second period ended Budaj's shutout streak at 96:33.
