Lightning 6, Avalanche 5
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Martin St. Louis and Simon Gagne each had a goal and two assists, leading the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 6-5 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night. The Lightning fended off a late rally by the Avalanche, which scored twice in the final 2:11 of the game with netminder Peter Budaj
on the bench.
St. Louis, Mattias Ritola and Gagne scored in the second period to give Tampa Bay a 4-2 advantage. The first two came 52 seconds apart, less than three minutes in.

Stastny's 10th goal of the season 1:24 into the third got the Avalanche within one but Ryan Malone picked up his seventh of the season for Tampa Bay and then helped set up Sean Bergenheim to make it 6-3 with 4:05 left.
Colorado pulled within one again on goals by Yip at the 17:49 mark and Hejduk barely a minute later, but the rallied stalled. Both teams missed scoring opportunities with the Colorado net unmanned, maybe the best of which was a David Jones
