DENVER (AP) - Peter Forsberg posted his first two points since rejoining the Avalanche, Andrew Brunette had a goal and an assist, and Colorado won its sixth straight by beating the Dallas Stars 3-1 on Saturday.

Jose Theodore stopped 25 shots for his sixth consecutive win, his longest run since late in the 2002 season when he won the Hart Trophy.

The Stars have dropped three in a row after winning four straight. The teams will play again Sunday night in Dallas.

Paul Stastny sealed the win with an empty-net goal with 3 seconds remaining.

Brunette scored his 15th of the season midway through the third period when he tipped in a pass from Forsberg for a power-play goal, giving the Avalanche a 2-1 lead.

Scott Hannan tied it early in the period, also off an assist by Forsberg, by poking a shot between the legs of Marty Turco. It was his second goal of the season and first in 42 games.

The Avs are 6-0 since signing Forsberg and acquiring defensemen Adam Foote and Ruslan Salei just before the trade deadline.

Marty Turco stopped 25 shots and dropped his third straight.

Brenden Morrow momentarily went into the locker room early in the third period when his head slammed into the glass partition between the benches on a hit by Avalanche defenseman Jeff Finger, who was called for interference.

The Stars scored a power-play goal midway through the first period when Antti Miettinen put back a rebound in front. Miettinen's 14th goal ended the Stars' 0-for-11 skid with the advantage.

Brad Richards had an assist, his first point since his five-assist debut with the Stars on Feb. 28 against Chicago.

Notes: The Avalanche activated F Cody McCormick from the injured list. McCormick missed 12 games due to a bruised chest. ... Foote sat out with a hip injury.
