2011-12: Appeared in 53 games during his second season with the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL)…Collected 10 points (0g/10a) with 43 penalty minutes.

2010-11: Missed over half of the regular season (42 games) due to injury in his first professional campaign with the Lake Erie Monsters…Despite being limited to just 35 games, Chouinard led all Monsters defensemen with eight goals and added nine assists for 17 points…He also led the Lake Erie defense with four powerplay goals…Began the year by missing the Monsters’ first eight games with an upper-body injury…Suffered another upper-body injury in his sixth contest of the season, Nov. 10 vs. Hamilton, an ailment that kept him out of the lineup for 34 games…Went on to appear in two playoff contests for the Monsters (0 points, +2).

2009-10: Led all Quebec Major Junior Hockey League defensemen with 23 goals and finished second in scoring with 68 points in 65 games for the Victoriaville Tigres…Named to the QMJHL First All-Star Team and was a finalist for the Emile Bouchard Trophy as the league’s best defenseman…Posted a team-best +23 plus/minus rating…Led all Tigres defensemen with 13 points (3g/10a) in 16 playoff games…Won the Paul-Dumont Trophy as the QMJHL’s “Personality of the Year” for his ambassador work in the local community and was a finalist for the Marcel-Robert Trophy as the QMJHL Scholastic Player of the Year…Signed an entry-level contract with the Avalanche following the season on May 26.
