2013-14 SEASON
Appeared in each of the final 17 games after being recalled from Lake Erie (AHL) for the second time this season on March 10...Skated in 32 games overall for Colorado this season, tallying three goals and two assists...All three of his goals came during his second recall...Had two separate stints with the Avalanche this season...Scored his first goal of the season and second of his career on March 12 vs. Chicago...Had a goal and a fighting major on April 1 at Columbus...Was originally recalled on Nov. 18 and spent two months with Colorado before being reassigned on Jan. 22...Appeared in 35 games for the Monsters, recording 15 points (8g/7a) with 75 penalty minutes.

2013-14 PLAYOFFS:
Made his Stanley Cup Playoff debut on April 17, in the Avalanche's first-round series with Minnesota...Had four shots, was -1 and had two PIMs in six games vs. the Wild.

CAREER
2012-13:
Spent the final four weeks with the Avalanche after being recalled for a second time on April 1…Tallied a goal and one assist in 13 games with Colorado…Scored his first NHL goal on April 8 vs. Calgary…Posted a career-high six hits on April 6 at Phoenix…Was first recalled on Jan. 23 and appeared in one game with the Avalanche before being reassigned on Jan. 29…Appeared in 63 games for the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL), tallying 24 points (10g/14a) with 99 penalty minutes…His 99 PIM finished second on the team.

2011-12:
Spent the majority of his first professional season with the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) but also saw his first NHL action with Colorado…Appeared in nine games for the Avalanche, recording two assists…Finished tied for second on the Monsters in scoring with 36 points (11g/25a) in 67 games…Was also second on the club in assists and ranked fifth in penalty minutes (89)…Led the Monsters and ranked second among league rookies with six game-winning goals…Was recalled by Colorado on Dec. 8 and made his NHL debut at Edmonton on Dec. 9…Picked up his first NHL point with an assist on Dec. 19 against Philadelphia at Pepsi Center…Also had an assist on Dec. 21 vs. St. Louis…Was reassigned to Lake Erie on Jan. 3 and spent the rest of the year in the AHL.

2010-11:
Helped the University of North Dakota to the WCHA regular season championship, the WCHA playoff title and a berth in the 2011 NCAA Frozen Four during his senior campaign…Ranked fifth on the Sioux in scoring with 40 points (16g/24a) and added a team high 108 penalty minutes in 43 games…Was +22 for the season and won 57.7% of his faceoffs, the fourth-best mark in school history…Named to the 2010-11 WCHA All-Academic Team…Finished his career with 85 points (33g/52a) and 329 penalty minutes in 161 games, becoming one of only four players in UND history to amass over 75 career points and 275 career PIM…Signed an entry-level contract with the Avalanche on April 13 and reported to the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL)…Appeared in three AHL playoff games, tallying one assist.

2009-10: Skated in all 43 games during his junior season at the University of North Dakota, tallying 11 goals and 14 assists…Led the Fighting Sioux with two short-handed goals and also paced the team with 102 penalty minutes…Finished second on North Dakota in faceoff percentage at 57.3% and placed third with a +14 plus/minus rating.

2008-09: Totaled 17 points (5g/12a) in 41 games during his sophomore campaign at North Dakota…Finished second on the team with 75 penalty minutes…Tallied a goal and an assist in North Dakota’s overtime loss to New Hampshire in the NCAA Northeast Regional Semifinal on March 28.

2007-08: Skated in 34 games during his freshman season at North Dakota, helping the Fighting Sioux advance to the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four…Led all North Dakota freshmen in penalty minutes (44) and ranked second in games played…Won 57.1% of his faceoffs, third best on the team.

2006-07: Recorded 33 points (14g/19a) and 134 penalty minutes in 57 games for Sioux Falls (USHL)…Ranked second on the Stampede in PIM…Shared the team lead with four game-winning goals…Skated in all eight playoff games for Sioux Falls, recording four points (3g/1a).

Personal: Brad’s uncle, Greg Malone, played 11 seasons in the NHL from 1976-87…Brad’s cousin, Ryan Malone (Greg’s son), is a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
