2009-10:
Served as Boston University’s lone captain as a junior, becoming the first junior to serve as lone captain of the Terriers since Bob Smith in 1961-62…The last junior to wear the ‘C’ at BU was Jack O’Callahan as a co-captain of the 1977-78 NCAA champion squad…Finished second among team defensemen in scoring with 29 points (7g/22a) while appearing in all 38 games…Led the Terrier defense in assists, second best on the team…Tied for first in the conference with four short-handed points (1g/3a)…Finished sixth among Hockey East defensemen in scoring…Signed an entry-level contract with the Avalanche on April 3 and reported to Lake Erie (AHL)…Recorded two assists in three games with the Monsters. 2008-09: Helped Boston University earn its fifth national championship by recording 28 points (7g/21a) in 43 games during his sophomore season…Ranked fourth among Hockey East defensemen in scoring…Earned a spot on the AHCA All-American East Second Team and was named a Hockey East Second Team All-Star…Assisted on Colby Cohen’s overtime winner in the NCAA title game on April 11 vs. Miami (Ohio)…Represented the United States at the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship in Ottawa…Led all tournament defensemen in assists (8) and tied for first in points (9) as Team USA earned a fifth-place finish…Named one of USA’s three best players of the tournament. 2007-08: Named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team as a freshman at Boston University…finished second among BU defensemen with 21 points (4g/17a)…Was one of only three Terriers to appear in all 40 games…Tied for fourth nationally among freshmen defensemen in scoring. 2006-07: Captained the U.S. National Under-18 Team in 2006-07, recording 40 points (13g/27a) in 57 games…Helped Team USA win the silver medal at the 2007 IIHF World Under-18 Championship and was named the tournament’s “Best Defenseman”…Finished tied for second among all defensemen in scoring with five points (1g/4a) in seven games at the event. 2005-06: Recorded 33 points (13g/20a) in 53 games with the U.S. National Under-17 Team…Helped Team USA to a second-place finish at the 2006 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, where he notched seven points (4g/3a) in seven games. Other: Was named to the 2004-05 All New England Prep First Team as a sophomore at The Brunswick School.
