Hometown: Canton, MI
How long have you been ice skating: 18 years
Best moment in skating career/hockey career: My dad was my coach when I played 10 and under hockey and he gave out a “player of the game” puck after every game. He would never give it to me because he didn’t want it to look like he was picking favorites. One day, I scored the game winning goal in overtime and he was forced to give me the “player of the game” puck!
Most listened to song on your ipod: Joke is on you! I don’t have an ipod…but I do like to listen to country on the radio
Place you’d most like to travel to: Mars. No kidding, I still haven’t given up on my childhood dream to be an astronaut.
Hobbies/Hidden Talents: I’ve been riding horses since I was 5. Now, I teach riding during the summers and compete for the University of Colorado Equestrian Team. I’m also a pretty good cook and I love having people over for homemade dinners.
Favorite Food: Anything my grandma makes!
Favorite Movie: Brave. Yes, the Disney movie. I really don’t have much time to watch movies unless I’m babysitting or we watch a movie at the barns where I teach kids to ride. I think this movie has such a beautiful and inspirational message for young girls.
Pets: Yes! I have a little kitty named Lemieux. I have a habit of naming pets after hockey players.
Most influential person in your life: Just one? My parents, grandparents, and teachers who pushed me to be the strong intelligent woman I am today. Particularly my teachers Mrs. Pelc and Mrs. Edgerton, who showed me a love for math and science and that being a strong, beautiful women doesn’t hold you back from kicking butt in these fields.
What accomplishment are you most proud of: I am most proud of the fact that over the past three years, I have been able to maintain and excel in an Aerospace Engineering undergrad program while being on a full ride scholarship and being blessed with the opportunity to compete for a nationally ranked IHSA Equestrian Team at the University of Colorado.
