Mario Duhamel recently finished his first season as a member of the Avalanche’s coaching staff.
Duhamel, 38, had spent the past four seasons as head coach of the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL. He was twice nominated as the league’s coach of the year, 2009-10 and 2010-11. Prior to joining the Voltigeurs, Duhamel was an assistant coach under Andre Tourigny with Rouyn-Noranda.
At the international level, Duhamel served as an assistant coach with Team Canada at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia.
Mario and his wife, Nadia, have three children, Thomas, Camelia and Kellyann.
