The Quebec International Pee Wee Hockey Tournament is known as the largest and most prestigious Pee Wee tournament in the world. It hosts 110 teams of 11-and 12-year-old hockey players from over 14 countries each year.
The Quebec Qualifier Tournament began play at Westminster Promenade Ice Center on Thursday, Oct. 22 and then moved to Pepsi Center for quarterfinal, semifinal and championship play.
The new Avalanche Pee Wee team will now begin preparation for its Quebec trip.
Street Avalanche
The NHL Street Avalanche program reaches out to communities of the Rocky Mountain Region to promote the game of hockey off of the ice. Street Hockey is played in empty parking lots, tennis courts, basketball courts, and inside gymnasiums. This program is available to community centers, recreation centers, schools, and youth programs.
Avalanche Player Clinics
During the regular season, private on-ice hockey clinics are held with local youth hockey associations. These private clinics are one-hour sessions, led by a designated Avalanche player, that focus on the fundamentals of ice hockey.
Mini Mites
The Colorado Avalanche provide a unique opportunity to mite-aged hockey players by offering the Mini Mites program - sponsored by KeyBank. The program allows youth hockey teams to play a short game and participate in a shootout on Pepsi Center ice during intermissions of selected Avalanche home games. Each youth hockey association in Colorado is invited to participate and registration is taken on a first come, first serve basis at the beginning of the season.
