The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed forward Troy Bourke to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Bourke

Bourke (pronounced BURK) was Colorado’s second selection (third round, 72nd overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft. The Edmonton, Alberta native finished second on the Prince George Cougars (WHL) in scoring this past season with 85 points (29g/56a) in 69 games. He led the team in assists and finished second in goals while serving as Prince George’s captain. Bourke joined the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) at the conclusion of the WHL regular season, recording seven points (3g/4a) in 15 games for the Monsters.

Bourke, 20, has spent the last four-plus seasons with Prince George, where he registered 236 points (84g/152a) in 276 WHL games.

In addition to the Bourke signing, the Avalanche also announced that the organization has signed four other players to entry-level deals: forwards Dennis Everberg, Samuel Henley and Borna Rendulic, as well as goaltender Roman Will.

Everberg, 22, spent this past season with Rogle in Sweden (Allsvenskan), where he finished third on the team with 34 points (17g/17a) in 47 games. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound forward is a native of Vasteras, Sweden.

Henley, 20, just wrapped up his 2013-14 season with the Val-d'Or Foreurs, who won the QMJHL championship and competed in the Memorial Cup tournament. The Foreurs’ captain recorded 69 points (30g/39a) in 51 regular season games, before adding 28 points (8g/20a) in 24 playoff contests and two points (1g/1a) in four games at the Memorial Cup. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound center is a native of Val-d'Or, Quebec.

Rendulic, a 22-year-old native of Zagreb, Croatia, spent this past season with HPK in Finland’s top professional league (SM-liiga), where the 6-foot-3, 203-pound right wing had a team-high 32 points (11g/21a) in 57 games.

Will, who recently turned 22, appeared in 20 games for Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic this past season, fashioning a 16-4 record with a 1.84 goals-against average. The Plzen, Czech Republic native played one season for Moncton in the QMJHL (2011-12), where he was named to the QMJHL’s First All-Star Team.
