Eurolanche Invasion 2014
For six Avalanche fans from Europe it was a trip of a lifetime.

Members of Eurolanche, a European Avalanche fan club, were in Colorado for two weeks and took in all seven games of the Avs homestand from Dec. 29, 2013 to Jan. 10, 2014. This was the sixth time ("Invasion VI") in which Eurolanche members visited Colorado and cheered on the team in person.

“We always look forward to each game of the Invasion and of course on the personal meetings with the players that brings unforgettable memories," said David Puchovsky, the founder and president of the fan organization. "It is different when you just watch the game on TV and when you are in Pepsi Center. The atmosphere is amazing."

After weeks of planning the trip it took club members in late December 40 hours and three flights to travel to Denver from Central Europe. Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia were represented at this season's Invasion.

Members of the club witnessed all of the Avs games during the longest homestand of the season and attended several of the team's practices at South Suburban Family Sports Center.

Other than Avalanche games the club members also attended Denver Nuggets and Colorado Mammoth games and visited downtown Denver, Red Rocks Amphitheater and the nearby mountains.

“I have been on five trips and don't have any regrets," Puchovsky said. "Denver is the most beautiful city in North America. Where else do you have 300 plus sunny days? It
is a tremendous connection between modern downtown and nature. If I was a hockey player I wouldn´t hesitate to play and live here. It is a heaven on Earth.”

Eurolanche was founded in 2007 and has more than 340 members from 29 countries. Every member of the club participates on a voluntary basis. In its six trips Eurolanche has visited 34 Avalanche home games and one away game in Minnesota during Invasion V in 2013.

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club has no affiliation with Eurolanche.
