Jessica Redfield Ghawi giveSPORTS Equipment Drive Returns Aug. 24
Bring Old And New Equipment To Pepsi Center And Help Colorado Kids Play Sports
On behalf of Jessica Redfield Ghawi’s family and Kroenke Sports Charities, the giveSPORTS equipment drive is returning to Pepsi Center for the second year on Saturday, Aug. 24, 7 a.m. to Noon in the Camry North Parking Lot.
The inaugural equipment drive was held last year in honor of former Altitude TV intern Jessica Ghawi. Prior to her death at the Aurora theater tragedy July 20, 2012, Jessica’s dream was to help the families of the Colorado wildfires by providing hockey equipment. In the spirit of her dream and through the generosity of many people, the drive collected more than 25,000 pieces of equipment as well as $10,000 to support the giveSPORTS scholarship program – which provides financial assistance for sports-related registration fees.
Volunteers and sports and media personalities will be on site to unload cars and thank those who graciously support the cause.
If you are unable to attend the event – but have equipment to donate or for monetary donations – contact A Precious Child at www.apreciouschild.org.
