Avalanche To Host Military Appreciation Night On April 21 At Pepsi Center
The Second Annual Event Will Be During The Game Against The St. Louis Blues
The Colorado Avalanche will host its second annual “Military Appreciation Night” on Sunday, April 21 against the St. Louis Blues at Pepsi Center (6 p.m. MT).
Below is a list of some of the activities that will take place around “Military Appreciation Night:”
CAMOUFLAGE JERSEYS / T-SHIRTS FOR AUCTION
Avalanche players will wear special camouflage jerseys during warmup that night. The jerseys will be auctioned off online at auction.nhl.com starting April 21. Proceeds benefit Kroenke Sports Charities, which supports numerous agencies including military. Additionally, limited edition autographed camouflage t-shirts will be on sale that night.
** Doors to Pepsi Center open at 4:30 p.m. and fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 5:30 p.m. to watch warmup.
The Avalanche will have a number of events surrounding “Military Appreciation Night,” which includes a special pre-game ceremony where every branch of the United States military will be acknowledged. Veterans will also be recognized during the game and a future service member enlistment ceremony will take place during intermission.
Lower-level tickets for the April 21st game will be offered for $42 and upper-level at $22 for anyone who brings a Military ID to the box office (active or retired). In addition, fans can purchase tickets online through The Home Front Cares (www.thehomefrontcares.org) or the USO (http://www.facebook.com/RockyMountainUSOatDenverInternationalAirport), and a $5 donation from every ticket purchased through their links will go back to each respective organization. Both organizations provide support and aid to troops and their families.
As part of the Avalanche player ticket donation program, Matt Duchene, Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Gabriel Landeskog, Ryan O’Reilly, Paul Stastny and Greg Zanon will be purchasing and donating tickets for military organizations that night. Avalanche season ticket holders are also able to donate their tickets for military personnel.
TWITTER FAN VIDEO PROMOTION
The Avalanche will have a special Twitter giveaway in which fans are encouraged to submit a 60-90 second video by tweeting to @avalanche along with the #AvsMilitaryNight hashtag or via email at email@example.com.
