The Avs are 2-0 against St. Louis and have now won nine of the last 10 meetings in this series (9-1-0)…Colorado has won six straight home games against the Blues, as St. Louis' last win here in Denver came on April 12, 2009.

Giguere appeared in his 538th career game tonight, tying Marty Turco for 51st place on the all-time list…Giguere entered tonight’s contest tied with Ron Tugnutt (537) for 52nd.

Shane O’Brien has a three-game assist/point streak (0g/3a), tying his career-long point streak set Dec. 20-26, 2007.

Colorado Center Paul Stastny
On The Game: We were playing a good goaltender, a good team and any time you get a start like that, it is a little easier to play. We kind of fell into a bad habit like a lot of teams do when you have a lead. We kind of stepped back and Jiggy played pretty strong behind us.
On Winning Seven Straight Home Games: I think we lost seven in a row to start the season so they had to even out. This is a good time to do it – in December where we play a lot of games at home. We have one more game until Christmas that is what we want to focus on and not get distracted.

Colorado Goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere
On Playing With An Early Lead: It is nice. We have been talking about getting better starts and that is the way to do it. Get a couple of goals in the first; it makes your life much easier after that.
On Getting Help From His Defense: Our D I think has been our best group so far this year. They have been very constant for us. They are a big mobile D and they move the puck well. When they are on top of their game, it is tough to beat them.

St. Louis Goaltender Brian Elliott
On The Game: I think they came at us early, got a couple of lucky bounces and they worked for their bounces. We had to play come back hockey and we have to start with the lead and learn this as a lesson.
On The Avs Third Goal: It was a 2-on-1 and guys were diving back trying to block the pass across and he tried to pass it through the D-man. They slid right into me. It was lucky – just laying there for them. We did a good job trying to come back from that.
