Avalanche Announces Training Camp Dates, Roster

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today its training camp dates and training camp roster for the upcoming 2011-12 season.
The Avalanche will begin its 2011 training camp on Sept. 16, with veterans reporting for medical and physical tests. The full squad will be on the ice for three days, Saturday, Sept. 17, Sunday, Sept. 18 and Monday, Sept. 19 at the South Suburban Family Sports Center in Englewood, Colo. Practices and scrimmages will take place in the morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All sessions are open to the public at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Avalanche will hold its annual Burgundy/White Game on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs (6:30 p.m.). Colorado begins its preseason schedule on Sept. 22 at Dallas, the first of six exhibition contests. The Avs will play three preseason games at home, Sept. 23 vs. St. Louis, Sept. 25 vs. Dallas and Sept. 28 vs. Los Angeles.
A total of 55 players will be attending training camp, which includes 29 forwards, 20 defensemen and six goaltenders. Full camp roster is attached.
