Ontario Hockey League
Joey Hishon and the Owen Sound Attack are tied with the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors in the 2011 Rogers OHL Championship Series after the teams split the first four contests of their best-of-seven matchup.

Mississauga jumped out to a 2-0 series lead with a 5-2 triumph last Tuesday and a 6-2 victory on Thursday (Hishon picked up an assist in Game 2).

However, Owen Sound battled back with overtime victories in Game 3 and Game 4 to even the series. The Attack took a 6-5 decision in Game 3 on Friday before earning a 2-1 victory on Sunday. Hishon had one helper in Game 3 and then assisted on both of Owen Sound’s goals in the Game 4 triumph.

Hishon has four assists through the first four games of the series and owns 20 points (4g/16a) in 19 games overall this postseason. That total places him second on the team and tied for third in the OHL in playoff scoring.

Game 5 of the series is scheduled for Tuesday night in Mississauga.

Both teams have already gained berths in the 2011 MasterCard Memorial Cup. Mississauga earned an automatic bid as the host team of this year’s event, while Owen Sound earned a spot by making it to the Rogers OHL Championship Series. In years that the host team makes it to their league finals, the other club in the finals also gains a berth in the four-team tournament.

Western Hockey League
-Troy Rutkowski and the Portland Winterhawks are tied with the Kootenay Ice in the WHL Championship Series, with each team earning one victory through the first two games.

Portland picked up a 4-3 overtime win in Game 1 of the series on Friday evening. Rutkowski earned two assists in the contest to go along with a game-best +3 plus/minus rating.

Rutkowski was held without a point in Game 2 – a 7-5 Kootenay victory – and has now totaled 11 points (3g/8a) in 18 postseason contests. He ranks second among Portland defensemen in playoff scoring and is tied for fifth among all WHL blueliners.

Game 3 of the best-of-seven series will be Tuesday night in Kootenay. The winner of the series will gain a berth in the 2011 MasterCard Memorial Cup.
