Hishon was selected as the First Team’s center by the OHL’s General Managers. Players were voted on by position and received five points for a first place vote, three for a second place vote, and one for a third place vote. Hishon received a total of 63 points in the voting process. By comparison, Niagara’s Ryan Strome was named the OHL Second All-Star Team center after garnering 48 points.

Hishon was selected by the Avalanche in the first round (17th overall) at the 2010 NHL Entry Draft after posting 40 points (16g/24a) in 36 games during an injury-plagued 2009-10 campaign.

The 19-year-old center posted 87 points (37g/50a) in just 50 games during the 2010-11 season, his fourth with the Owen Sound Attack. His 1.74 points-per-game average was second in the league to Windsor’s Ryan Ellis (1.741), who registered 101 points (24g/77a) in 58 contests.

Despite missing 18 games, Hishon still paced the Attack in assists and points while finishing second in goals. The Stratford, Ontario native was voted the “Best Playmaker” and “Best Stickhandler” in the OHL Western Conference Coaches Poll for the 2010-11 season.

Hishon has notched 16 points (4g/12a) in 15 postseason games for the Attack, who will take on Mississauga in the 2011 Rogers OHL Championship Series beginning Tuesday.
