Stastny Out For Remainder Of Season
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that forward Paul Stastny will miss the remainder of the 2010-11 season due to a leg injury.

“Further examination revealed a stress fracture in his leg,” said Avalanche team physician Dr. Andrew Parker.  “At this time, the decision was made to shut him down for the rest of the regular season.”

Stastny, 25, ranks second on the Avalanche in scoring with 57 points (22g/35a) in 74 games.  He leads the club in faceoff percentage (53.1%) and ranks first among all Avs forwards in ice time at 19:44 per game. Stastny made his first career appearance at the NHL All-Star Game on Jan. 30 in Carolina, tallying a goal and one assist.

Stastny reached several milestones this season, as he appeared in his 300th NHL game (Dec. 4 at Tampa Bay), tallied his 200th career assist (Dec. 15 at Chicago), collected his 300th point (Jan. 2 vs. Vancouver) and scored his 100th career goal (Jan. 22 vs. Boston).  The Quebec City, Quebec native reached the 20-goal mark for the fourth time in his five NHL seasons.
