Defenseman Jonas Holos earned Avalanche "Play of the Week" honors during the March 4-10 timeframe for his body check on Edmonton forward Liam Reddox.
Holos' hit drew 41.24% of the vote, beating out a Peter Budaj save on Minnesota's John Madden (30.93%) and a Kevin Porter goal against the Wild (27.84%).
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans. Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.
Holos Hits Reddox – 3/5 vs. Edmonton
Late in the first period of the Avalanche/Oilers tilt, defenseman Jonas Holos threw a hit on Edmonton’s Liam Reddox. Reddox flew up the right wing and put a backhand attempt on net when Holos bumped him, sending Reddox (partially due to his momentum) hard into the end boards.
