MATCHUP 17: #1 Kyle Cumiskey vs. #17 Chris Stewart
Cumiskey's overtime goal won handily over a Matt Duchene tally in the first round, while Stewart's goal had a tighter matchup against a series of Peter Budaj stops.

Cumiskey Quick In OT – 2/10 vs. Atlanta (66.54% in Week 19)
Kyle Cumiskey scored the game-winning goal just nine seconds into overtime against Atlanta. After Paul Stastny won the opening faceoff in the extra session, Cumiskey skated up-ice, weaving through all four Atlanta defenders before making a quick move to beat Thrashers goaltender Johan Hedberg and give Colorado a 4-3 victory.

Stewart’s Give-And-Go – 12/13 vs. Calgary (43.05% in Week 11)
After Wojtek Wolski had his shot stopped by Calgary goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff, the forward gathered the puck and sent a cross-ice feed to Chris Stewart just outside the goal crease. Stewart then made a quick pass to a cutting Paul Stastny, who flipped it right back. Stewart’s first shot was stopped, but he buried his own rebound for his seventh goal of the season.

MATCHUP 18: #24 Craig Anderson vs. #25 Peter Mueller
A pair of upset specials square off in the second round. Anderson beat out one of his own plays to advance, while Mueller's first tally in an Avalanche uniform topped a Kyle Cumiskey goal.

One Of Many For Andy – 4/18 vs. San Jose (38.46% in Week 27)
Craig Anderson put on a goaltending clinic in Game Three against San Jose, stopping all 51 shots he faced in Colorado’s 1-0 overtime victory. Here, Anderson first turned away a Ryane Clowe wrister and then kept his cool with a mad scramble in front of him, which included a Clowe follow-up attempt.

Mueller Scores In Debut – 3/4 @ Anaheim (37.88% in Week 20)
Acquired in a trade with the Phoenix Coyotes just hours earlier, Peter Mueller scored his first Avalanche goal against the Anaheim Ducks. With the Avs applying pressure on a power play, John-Michael Liles kept the play alive by sprawling out to keep the puck in the zone at the blue line. It ended up on the stick of Mueller, who threw a wrister on net from the left point that deflected off Anaheim defenseman James Wisniewski and past netminder Jonas Hiller.

MATCHUP 19: #5 T.J. Galiardi vs. #12 Matt Duchene
Galiardi's short-handed goal beat out a shorty by Ryan O'Reilly to advance, while Duchene's first NHL tally topped a David Jones cross-ice pass to Milan Hejduk.

Galiardi’s Second Effort – 1/24 vs. Dallas (57.92% in Week 17)
T.J. Galiardi gave the Avs a 2-0 lead over Dallas with the first short-handed goal of his career. After poking the puck away from Dallas defenseman Matt Niskanen just inside the blue line in the Avs’ defensive end, Galiardi raced up the right side before cutting toward the middle on a breakaway. The rookie’s initial attempt was stopped by Marty Turco, but Galiardi knocked home his own rebound.

Duchene’s First Goal – 10/17 @ Detroit (45.43% in Week 3)
Matt Duchene netted his first NHL goal in a victory over Detroit. The rookie got the puck at the Avalanche’s blue line and made a quick move to work his way around Justin Abdelkader. Coming up the right wing, Duchene beat Chris Osgood with a shot from the top of the right circle.

MATCHUP 20: #4 Ryan Wilson vs. #13 Matt Duchene
Wilson's big hit on Blues forward T.J. Oshie goes up against a strong individual effort from Duchene in this second round contest.

Wilson Crushes Oshie – 12/7 @ St. Louis (60.53% in Week 10)
After receiving a pass from Carlo Colaiacovo near the Avalanche blue line, T.J. Oshie looked to carry the puck into the offensive zone. However, Oshie was met by rookie defenseman Ryan Wilson, who threw a thundering hit on the St. Louis forward.

Duchene Goes 1-on-3 – 12/29 @ Dallas (45.42% in Week 18)
Matt Duchene’s vast skill set was on full display on this play against the Dallas Stars. Duchene gathered the puck and turned on the jets, weaving through three Dallas defenders before beating Alex Auld blocker side.
