Budaj will be making his second appearance at the IIHF Men’s World Championship, as the netminder appeared in one game for Slovakia at the 2008 event.  The Banska Bystrica native has suited up for his country many times in international competition, including each of the last two Olympic Winter Games. Budaj served as Slovakia’s backup goaltender at the 2010 Games in Vancouver, but made three starts at the 2006 Olympics in Torino, posting a 2-1-0 record with a 2.01 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage. Previously, Budaj was a member of Team Slovakia at the 2001 and 2002 IIHF World Junior Championships and the 2000 IIHF World Under-18 Championship.

The goaltender appeared in 15 games for the Avalanche during the 2009-10 campaign, starting 11 contests and appearing four times in relief. He posted a 5-5-2 record with a 2.64 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.  During the postseason Budaj appeared in relief one time, seeing nine minutes of action in Game Five of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the San Jose Sharks.

Svatos will be making his first appearance at the IIHF Men’s World Championship, but he is no stranger to international competition. The forward skated in all six of Slovakia’s contests at the 2006 Winter Olympics and has also represented his country at the 2002 IIHF World Junior Championship and the 2000 World Under-18 Championship.

Svatos played in 54 games for the Avalanche in 2009-10 and totaled 11 points (7g/4a). He also appeared in three postseason contests and netted his second career playoff goal in Game Six of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
