Chris Stewart earned Avalanche "Play of the Week" honors with his penalty shot goal on March 6 against St. Louis.

Stewart's tally, which completed his first career hat trick, took in 46.35% of the vote. Ryan Wilson's hit on Matt D’Agostini finished with 31.74%, while Brett Clark's big shot fake that led to a Paul Stastny goal gathered 21.91%.

The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans. Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.

Stewart Completes Hat Trick – 3/6 vs. St. Louis
With two goals already in the game, Chris Stewart was awarded a penalty shot after being tripped up by Blues defenseman Erik Johnson on a breakaway. On his penalty shot attempt, Stewart slowly made his way toward the crease and beat St. Louis goalie Ty Conklin to his glove side to complete his first career hat trick.
