Spotlight On: Darren Haydar
Much like he’s done throughout the majority of his career in the American Hockey League, Darren Haydar currently finds himself on top of the Lake Erie Monsters’ scoring chart.

With 14 points (6g/8a) in 18 games, the forward is tied for the team’s scoring lead with Chris Durno. Haydar also leads the club with four power-play goals.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound right wing is no stranger to success at the AHL level. In fact, he is the AHL’s all-time leading playoff scorer with 135 points (59g/76a) in 105 postseason contests.  In 514 career regular-season contests Haydar has totaled 550 points (207g/343a) and holds the league record for the longest point streak at 39 games.

In addition to his impressive point totals, Haydar was the 2007 AHL MVP, 2003 AHL Rookie of the Year and has been a member of two Calder Cup championship teams.
