Goaltender's Stop on Joe Thornton Earns 37.41% Of Fan Votes

Craig Anderson's big stop on San Jose center Joe Thornton was named the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" for the Oct. 30-Nov. 5 timeframe, gathering 37.41% of fan votes.
Anderson's save beat out a goal by Marek Svatos against Phoenix (32.71%) and a Matt Duchene short-handed tally against San Jose (29.88%).
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.

Anderson Robs Thornton – 10/30 @ San Jose
Craig Anderson came up with this big first-period save on San Jose’s Joe Thornton to keep the game scoreless. With the Sharks on a power play, Dany Heatley made a quick pass to Thornton, who was situated to Anderson’s left. The center threw a hard wrister at the net, but Anderson quickly moved across his crease and made a strong glove save.
