ColoradoAvalanche.com is asking for your help in determining the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" each week during the regular season. At the end of the year, a bracket-style tournament will be held to determine, via fan voting, the Avalanche's "Play of the Year."
This week a pair of Wojtek Wolski goals are nominated, along with a save by Craig Anderson.
Voting ends on Monday, Nov. 2 at 3:00 p.m. MT, so be sure to cast your ballot today!
Anderson Stymies Wings – 10/24 vs. Detroit
Goaltender Craig Anderson had a number of stellar stops during his 48-save effort against the Red Wings, but this sequence may have been the best. After stopping a Pavel Datsyuk wrister during a Detroit rush, Anderson also got in front of Henrik Zetterberg’s rebound attempt.
Wolski Breaks Away – 10/27 @ Edmonton
Wojtek Wolski netted an insurance goal in Colorado’s 3-0 shutout of the Oilers before eventually being credited with an empty-netter. On his first goal Wolski out-skated Edmonton defenseman Taylor Chorney and cut across the front of Nikolai Khabibulin’s crease before beating the netminder to the far side.
Wolski Walks Around Flames – 10/28 @ Calgary
With the Avs and Flames tied in the third period, Wojtek Wolski pulled out some late-game heroics. After taking a drop pass from Paul Stastny just inside the blue line, Wolski split two defenders and walked into the slot before firing the game-winner past Miikka Kiprusoff.
