The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has recalled forward Brian Willsie from the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League. Willsie will be available for tonight’s game against the Detroit Red Wings at Pepsi Center (7:00 p.m., Altitude TV).
Willsie, Lake Erie’s captain, has tallied six points (3g/3a) in nine games for the Monsters this season. He is tied for second on the team in goals and ranks third in points. The 31-year-old skated in 42 games for the Avalanche last season, recording four points (1g/3a). Willsie has 52 goals and 56 assists in 376 career games in the National Hockey League.
The Avalanche also announced today that Cody McLeod has been placed on the injured reserve list (retroactive to Oct. 21) due to an eye injury.
