Ryan O'Reilly earned Avalanche "Play of the Week" honors for the Oct. 9-15 timeframe following his first career NHL goal. The tally doubled as the game-winning goal in Colorado's 3-2 victory in Montreal on Oct. 15.

O'Reilly's goal received 42.93% of fan voting, beating out a pair of scores by David Jones. Jones' goal against Boston got 36.55% of the vote, while his tally in Toronto netted 20.52%.

The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.

Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.

O’Reilly’s First NHL Tally – Oct. 15 @ Montreal
Ryan O’Reilly’s first NHL goal couldn’t have come at a better time. With the Avs and Canadiens tied 2-2 in the third period, the rookie took a centering feed from David Jones and threw a shot on net that was stopped by Montreal netminder Carey Price. O’Reilly stuck with the play, picked up his own rebound and deposited it past Price for the game-winning goal.
