Training Camp Opens Today
With rookie camp now in the books, and veteran physicals and medicals completed, it’s time for the players to hit the ice.

The Colorado Avalanche opens its 2009 training camp Sunday (Sept. 13) morning at Family Sports Center. The players are scheduled to be on the ice from approximately 9:00 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

All sessions are open to the public at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

A total of 56 players will be attending training camp, including 27 forwards, 22 defenseman and seven goaltenders.

Training camp will culminate with the Avalanche’s annual Burgundy/White Game on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs (6:30 p.m.).  Colorado will then open its preseason schedule against Dallas on Thursday, Sept. 17, at Pepsi Center (7:00 p.m.).
