Avalanche Prospect Update - April 27

Nathan Condon and the Fargo Force advanced to the Clark Cup Finals after defeating the Lincoln Stars 2-0 in Game 3 of their best-of-five series on Saturday.

Condon assisted on both goals in the series-clinching victory and also had an assist in Fargo's 7-3 victory in Game 2 on Friday. He now has five points (0g/5a) in six postseason games for the Force, who will face the winner of Green Bay and Indiana in the finals. Condon's five assists rank second on the team, while his five points put him in a tie for third.

Cedric McNicoll and the Shawinigan Cataractes defeated Kelsey Tessier and the Quebec Remparts 6-1 on Friday to win the best-of-seven series 4 games to 1. The Cataractes advanced to the President Cup Final Series, where they will face the Drummondville Voltigeurs.

McNicoll had two assists in Game 5 and led all scorers with nine points (4g/5a) during the series. McNicoll leads his club and ranks fifth overall in the QMJHL with 25 points (11g/14a) in 14 postseason games.

Tessier led the Remparts with 17 shots during the series, recording one goal (1g/0a) in five games. Tessier finished with 11 points (9g/2a) in 17 postseason games, ranking second on the team in goals and sixth in points.

The President Cup Finals will begin this Friday (May 1) in Drummondville.  Drummondville was the league’s regular season champs and has yet to lose a game this postseason, sweeping all three series. The winner will get a chance to play in the 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup hosted by Rimouski from May 15-24.
