MATCH-UP 1: #5 Ryan Smyth vs. #28 Marek Svatos
Smyth's shootout winner against the Buffalo Sabres goes head-to-head with a shifty move by Svatos, which gained entrance into the tournament as the highest wildcard selection.

Smyth Ends Shootout – 10/25 vs. Buffalo (56.41% in Week 3)
Ryan Smyth put a cap on Colorado’s 2-1 shootout victory over Buffalo with this goal. With the shootout tied, 2-2, Smyth skated in and beat Sabres’ goaltender Ryan Miller with a forehand to lead the Avs to victory.

Svatos Gets Past Phaneuf – 2/2 vs. Calgary (36.97% in Week 17)
Marek Svatos scored his second goal of the game against Calgary, showing off his speed and knack for finding open areas on the ice. With Cody McLeod streaking up the left wing, Svatos hopped around defenseman Dion Phaneuf to get inside position and knocked home a feed from his linemate after barreling toward the net.

MATCH-UP 2: #21 Peter Budaj vs. #12 T.J. Galiardi
Budaj's save, which won the final "Play of the Week" competition of the season, goes up against the rookie's first career NHL tally.

Budaj Hugs the Post – 4/11 vs. Vancouver (44.39% in Week 27)
Peter Budaj clung to his goal post to keep the Canucks off the scoreboard in the third period of an April 11 matchup. Budaj made a nice save on an Alex Burrows wraparound attempt and also foiled Burrrows’ rebound chance by stacking his pads.

Galiardi’s First Goal – 3/27 vs. Vancouver (49.38% in Week 25)
T.J. Galiardi potted his first career NHL goal against the Vancouver Canucks. From behind the Vancouver net, Ian Laperriere made a feed into the slot to Galiardi. The rookie forward buried a shot that beat Canucks netminder Jason LaBarbera high to his glove side at the 13:25 mark of the opening period.

MATCH-UP 3: #13 Milan Hejduk vs. #20 Chris Stewart
A milestone tally by Hejduk squares off against a Stewart marker that came off a nice feed by Wojtek Wolski.

Hejduk’s 300th – 1/18 vs. Calgary (48.73% in Week 15)
Milan Hejduk joined the 300-goal club when he snapped off a quick wrist shot from the left faceoff circle with the Avalanche on a power play. In the process, Hejduk became just the fourth player in franchise history to record 300 career goals.

Wolski, Stewart Connect – 2/7 vs. St. Louis (44.58% in Week 18)
Ryan Smyth started this play by intercepting a Tyson Strachan outlet pass and gaining the offensive zone before giving up the puck to Wojtek Wolski in the left circle. Wolski made a no-look backhand feed to Chris Stewart, who was cutting toward the net. Stewart completed the play by beating Chris Mason to give the Avs a 1-0 lead.

MATCH-UP 4: #29 Peter Budaj vs. #4 Brett Clark
A Budaj wildcard entry takes on one of the top seeds, a Clark overtime winner.

Budaj’s Breakaway Stop – 3/14 @ Edmonton (36.86% in Week 23)
Edmonton’s Ales Hemsky found himself in a one-on-one battle with Peter Budaj after receiving a long outlet feed from Denis Grebeshkov. However, Budaj was up to the test, stretching out his right pad to stop the Oiler forward on a breakaway attempt.

Week 11 - Clark’s OT Winner – 12/23 vs. Phoenix (56.52%)
Defenseman Brett Clark celebrated his 32nd birthday in style by scoring the overtime winner against Phoenix. Clark received the puck at the point and faked a shot before moving around a Coyote defender and putting a blast over Bryzgalov’s right shoulder to give Colorado the win.
