Fresh off his appearance at the NHL All-Star Game, Milan Hejduk earned another honor when his 300th career goal was named the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" for the Jan. 16-22 timeframe. The tally received 48.73% of fan voting to beat out Ryan Smyth's 300th career goal (27.02%) and a Chris Stewart tally (24.25%). All three goals came during Colorado's 6-2 win over Calgary on Jan. 18.

The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.

Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.

Hejduk’s 300th – 1/18 vs. Calgary
Milan Hejduk joined Smyth in the 300-goal club just a few minutes later when he snapped off a quick wrist shot from the left faceoff circle with the Avalanche on a power play. Hejduk also became just the fourth player in franchise history to record 300 career goals.
