Brothers Paul and Yan Stastny have yet to face each other in an NHL game, something they are looking to do Wednesday night when the Blues visit the Avalanche. Their father, Peter Stastny, is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Paul and Peter have combined for 1,405 points, the fourth most of any father-son combo in NHL history. LONDON CALLING
Goaltender Trevor Cann has continued his hot start with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. Cann, who was acquired from Peterborough two weeks ago, is 7-0 with a 1.84 goals-against average in seven games since joining the Knights via trade. Read more about Cann, as well as the other Avalanche prospects who competed in the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge in this week’s Farm Report.
| Stoa |
Check out ColoradoAvalanche.com’s feature on University of Minnesota captain Ryan Stoa coming this Thursday.
“On this Thanksgiving, University of Minnesota forward Ryan Stoa is thankful to be back on the ice with the Gophers and happy that he and the rest of the squad are playing well. Stoa has made a grand return after suffering a season-ending knee injury last year”
AVS STILL RIDING HIGH IN SHOOTOUTS
The Avalanche is a league-best 4-0 in shootouts this season. Through games of Nov. 25, only two other clubs had won at least four tie-breakers, the New York Rangers (4-1) and Montreal Canadiens (4-4). The Avs have won eight consecutive shootouts dating back to last year, tied for the third longest streak in shootout history. Individually, Peter Budaj leads all NHL goaltenders with a 4-0 record in shootouts this year.
