Smyth Again Earns Play of Week Honors
The votes were tallied and you, the fans, selected Ryan Smyth's shootout winner against Buffalo as the Avs’ “Play of the Week” for the period of Oct. 24-30. Smyth's goal received 56.41% of the voting, beating out Jordan Leopold's tally that same night (30.56%) and Tyler Arnason's goal against Columbus on Oct. 30 (13.03%).

It was the second straight "Play of the Week" win for Smyth, who also got the nod a week ago for his tally against the Los Angeles Kings.

The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.

Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.

Smyth Ends Shootout – 10/25 vs. Buffalo
Ryan Smyth put a cap on Colorado’s 2-1 victory over Buffalo with this shootout goal. With the shootout tied, 2-2, Smyth skated in and beat Sabres’ goaltender Ryan Miller with a forehand to lead the Avs to victory.
