Avalanche Recalls T.J. Hensick
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that it has recalled center  T.J. Hensick from the Lake Erie Monsters, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate. He will be available to play tomorrow night when the Avalanche meets the Sharks (8:30 p.m. MST).

Hensick, 21, leads Lake Erie in scoring this season with 13 points (5g/8a) in 18 games, including a seven-game scoring streak from November 10-23 (3g/6a).

After being drafted by the Avalanche in the third round (88th overall) in the 2005 Entry Draft, Hensick registered 69 points (23g/46a) in 41 games during his remarkable senior season at Michigan last year, earning him the Central Collegiate Hockey Association scoring title.  In addition to being a Hobey Baker Award finalist, Hensick was also consensus first-team All-American and was named College Hockey Hews’ Player of the Year for 2006-07. He led the country in assists, assists-per-game (1.12) and points per game (1.68) in his final campaign with the Wolverines.

In a related move, the Avalanche reassigned forward Brad Richardson to Lake Erie (AHL).
