Avalanche Re-Signs Arnason
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced Friday that the team has re-signed forward Tyler Arnason to a two-year contract through the 2008-09 season.
Arnason, 28, finished sixth on the Avalanche in scoring last season with 49 points (16g/33a) in 82 games.  He tied his career high in assists and his 49 points were the second highest total of his career.  Tyler finished third on the team in shots (211), fifth in assists and sixth in goals.  Arnason, who was one of only five Avalanche players to appear in every game last year, has now played all 82 games in three of the past four seasons.
“Tyler had a good season for us last year and we look forward to him building upon that success,” said Avalanche Executive Vice President & General Manager Francois Giguere.
Following the 2006-07 season, Arnason skated for the U.S. National Team at the 2007 IIHF World Championship in Moscow.  He notched a goal and three assists in seven games for Team USA during the tournament.
Originally selected by Chicago in the seventh round (183rd overall) of the 1998 Entry Draft, Arnason signed a free-agent contract with the Avalanche on July 1, 2006.  He has compiled 192 points (73g/119a) in 346 career NHL games.
