Colorado Avalanche Head Coach Joel Quenneville coached in his 750th career NHL game on Sunday night in Vancouver, becoming the 29th coach in league history to reach that milestone.
Quenneville became one of only seven active coaches to reach 750 games, joining Bryan Murray (1215), Jacques Martin (1009), Ron Wilson (1003), Jacques Lemaire (961), Marc Crawford (899) and Ken Hitchcock (811).
Quenneville has compiled a 389-268-93 lifetime record for a .581 winning percentage as an NHL head coach (note: OT losses from 1999-00 to 2003-04 count as losses).
Quenneville, who played 13 seasons as a defenseman in the NHL, became only the fifth coach in NHL history to both play and coach in 750 or more games.
