Stastny\'s Two Goals Key 4-3 Win Over Coyotes

DENVER (AP) - Paul Stastny scored two goals and Tyler Arnason added three assists as the Colorado Avalanche beat Phoenix 4-3 Wednesday night, ending the Coyotes' six-game road winning streak.

Milan Hejduk had a goal and two assists and Joe Sakic added two assists for Colorado, winner of seven straight over Phoenix and 10-0-2-1 in the last 13 meetings.

The Coyotes' road streak was the second-longest streak in franchise history. The longest was eight in 1985 when the team was the Winnipeg Jets.

Phoenix made things interesting after falling behind 4-1 midway through the third period. Michael Zigomanis and Shane Doan scored 1:16 apart, but the Coyotes couldn't tie the score even when they pulled goalie Curtis Joseph with 39 seconds remaining.

Colorado has struggled killing penalties, giving up three power-play goals in a loss to San Jose on Monday night. However, Phoenix was 0-for-6 on the power play.

Peter Budaj stopped 26 shots as he improved to 4-0 in his career against Phoenix. It was Budaj's 10th straight start in goal.

After Georges Laraque tied the score 1-1 on a wraparound shot early in the second period, the Avalanche answered with two goals, both on assists from Sakic, his 31st and 32nd assists of the season.

Stastny scored goals No. 12 and 13 on the season while Hejduk added his 15th and Andrew Brunette his 16th.

Laraque's goal was his fifth of the season and first since Nov. 19 against Anaheim. It came on an assist from Yanic Perreault, who now has six goals and seven assists in his last 12 games.

Joseph finished with 28 saves.
