Budaj, Wolski To Participate In NHL's Young Stars Game
DENVER - Colorado Avalanche goaltender Peter Budaj and forward Wojtek Wolski were selected to participate in the NHL's YoungStars Game presented by Upper Deck, which will be played on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Budaj has appeared in a team-high 24 games this season, compiling a 12-9-2 record with a 2.59 goals-against average and .905 save percentage. The 24-year old netminder has started 11 of the last 14 games for the Avalanche, posting a 7-3-1 record during that stretch. Budaj was Colorado's first selection (63rd overall) in the 2001 Entry Draft.
Wolski, 20, is currently fourth among NHL rookies in scoring this season with 31 points. He ranks third among all rookies in goals (15) and is tied for fifth in assists (16). Wolski's six power-play goals are tied for the second most by an NHL rookie this year. Colorado's first round selection (21st overall) in the 2004 Entry Draft, Wolski was the NHL's Rookie of the Month for December.
The YoungStars Game will be telecast live on VERSUS in the United States and on CBC and RDS in Canada, beginning at 7:30 p.m., ET and followed immediately by the Dodge Nitro/NHL SuperSkills Competion.
