Is there a difference in how you prepare for a game as the back-up compared to when you know you are starting?

Budaj: "It's a little different. You know you are not starting but you have to get prepared like if you were starting."
What is the personal highlight of your career?

Budaj: "Making the NHL, obviously, being on an NHL team. That and making the Olympic team (Slovakia)."
A lot of goalies in the NHL seem to be rather superstitious. Do you have any pre-game rituals you do before every start you're given, or any that you perform before a shootout?

Budaj: "I'm not very superstitious. I play a little soccer before each game but that's about it."
Why did you decide to have Ned Flanders from The Simpsons painted on the back of your helmet?

Budaj: "It's a nickname. One of our equipment managers made up that nickname for me."
How does it feel for you and Marek Svatos to play with the son (Paul Stastny) of probably one of the greatest Slovak players ever in Peter Stastny?

Budaj: "It's really nice. Paul is a good guy and we have known Peter from back home with the national team. It's a privilege to play with the son of one of the greatest players to ever come out of Slovakia."
How do you mentally prepare for a shootout?

Budaj: "I try not to think about it too much. You just tell yourself to be patient and wait for the player to make his move."
During a shootout, what player is most intimidating to go one-on-one?

Budaj: "Every team has about two to three players who are dangerous in a shootout."
With all the history behind the team and legacy players that have played in an Avalanche uniform, if you had to pick one player that wore the same uniform (include the Nordiques) who you idolize the most, who would it be and why?

Budaj: "Patrick Roy. He's the best of all time."
Coming from out of North America, what do you think is the hardest part of living far away from home?

Budaj: "You just have to get used to the different lifestyle. It was tough being away from my family at first. But I love it here."
