Avalanche Hires Sylvain Lefebvre As Scout
"We're extremely happy to have Sylvain join our staff," said Avalanche Executive Vice President and General Manager Francois Giguere. "He's going to be a key component of our player developmental efforts and he'll be a strong resource for our younger players.
"Sylvain enjoyed a very successful NHL career, he knows our philosophy and we believe his background will be a great asset in his new role."
Lefebvre, 38, was a draft day acquisition by the Quebec Nordiques in 1994 from the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a key member of the Avalanche blueline corps for four years and a member of the club's 1996 Stanley Cup Championship squad. Originally signed as a free agent in 1986 by the Montreal Canadiens, Lefebvre would go on to appear in 945 NHL contests over 14 NHL seasons with Montreal, Toronto, Quebec/Colorado and New York Rangers organizations.
