Ted Hampson Named Chief Scout
"Ted's vast knowledge and extensive experience as a scout and talent evaluator for many years will be a great benefit to our organization," said Avalanche Executive Vice President and General Manager Francois Giguere.
Hampson comes to the Avalanche after serving as the Director of Scouting and most recently the Director of Player Evaluation for the St. Louis Blues, a post he held since 2002. During his NHL career, Hampson played with Toronto, NY Rangers, Detroit and the Minnesota North Stars and was honored with the Bill Masterton Trophy in 1969.
Following his playing days, Hampson worked with the North Stars' minor-league affiliate and was a member of the NHL's Central Scouting Department.
