2006 OLYMPICS: Sweden First To Advance

Sweden became the first team to advance to the semifinals, as they beat Switzerland 6-2 on Wednesday.

Mats Sundin scored twice and Daniel Alfredsson added three assists as the Swedes moved on to play the winner of Slovakia and Czech Republic later today.

Henrik Lundqvist stopped 27 of 29 shots and Nicklas Lidstrom and Peter Forsberg each had two assists.

Leading 2-1 after the first, Sweden rattled off three unanswered goals in the second to pull away.
