Wolski Named OHL Player of the Week
Scarborough, Ontario - The Ontario Hockey League announced Tuesday that Avalanche prospect Wojtek Wolski of the Brampton Battalion was named OHL Player of the Week, capping a record-setting stretch in which he totaled six goals and 13 points in three games.

Wolski began the week by notching four points (1g/3a) on Jan. 19 vs. Mississauga, followed by a goal and one assist on Jan. 20 at Sudbury. He then set a team record with seven points (four goals, three assists) in the Battalion's 9-4 victory over Erie on Jan. 22 at the Brampton Centre for Sports & Entertainment.

The 19-year old forward leads Brampton in scoring with 64 points in 33 games (22 goals, 42 assists). He was selected to the OHL All-Star Game and will represent the Battalion for the third time at the all star classic on Feb. 1 in Belleville.

Colorado's first selection (21st overall) in the 2004 Entry Draft, Wolski began this season with the Avalanche where he had two goals and four assists in nine games before being reassigned to his junior team on Oct. 26.

Wolski was the OHL's Player of the Month for December (12 games, 8 goals, 17 assists) and became the Battalion's all-time leading scorer with an assist against Kingston on Dec. 8.
