Avalanche Fans Set Record For Bell-Ringing
In cooperation with The Denver Salvation Army and its Holiday Season "Kettle-Kick-off", Avalanche fans will now be listed among the Guinness Book of World Records by simultaneously ringing Salvation Army bells. They eclipsed the current record of 5,000 bells rung at the same time.
Avalanche Head Coach Joel Quenneville and Assistant Coaches Jacques Cloutier and Tony Granato acted as spokesmen on behalf of the Avalanche organization for the event and were the first to make a Red Kettle donation during the first intermission ceremony.
With this event, The Denver Salvation Army will officially begin its Red Kettle fund raising efforts which help provide food, clothing and toys for needy families across the area this holiday season.
"It's this time of the year in which we turn our attention to those less fortunate than ourselves," said Avalanche Head Coach Joel Quenneville. "The Salvation Army has dedicated itself to this mission and we're excited to be able to support them in their efforts."
For the past three years, Kroenke Sports Charities has been involved with the official kick-off of the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. Additionally, Kroenke Sports Charities is proud to support Salvation Army efforts throughout the metro area including youth sports clinics at the Red Shield Center.
