Burgundy Edges White 3-2 in Avalanche Burgundy/White Game
The Burgundy squad won despite wasting a 2-0 lead in the third period, as the White team scored two goals in the third to even the contest. Joe Sakic scored at 6:49 to get the White club on the board and Ian Laperriere tied it with a power-play tally from Rob Blake and Brett McLean at 14:58.
Just as the game was about to head into overtime, Wolski fired a shot from the right side that slid through Vitaly Kolesnik's pads and into the net as the horn sounded.
Dan Hinote led off the scoring at 4:55 of the first period, netting a perfect cross-ice pass from Andrew Brunette on a two-on-one to give the Burgundy team a 1-0 lead.
Burgundy stretched that lead to 2-0 after Cody McCormick ripped a slapshot past goalie Tyler Weiman's stick side.
David Aebischer stopped all 14 shots he faced for the Burgundy team in a period-and-a-half of action.
