Avalanche Adds Brunette
Brunette, 31, is set to begin his 10th NHL season with the Colorado Avalanche after spending his last three seasons with the Minnesota Wild where he played in all but one game for the Wild in that span. Prior to that, Brunette logged time in Atlanta, Nashville and Washington who drafted him 174th overall in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.
"What you see with Andrew is a clear record of consistency and durability. His addition gives us greater depth at the forward positions," said Avalanche President and General Manager Pierre Lacroix. "He has demonstrated the ability to score goals and make plays at every level he's been and we feel he has the skills and the ability to excel in this new era of the NHL."
The 6-1, 210-pound native of Sudbury Ontario has recorded 54 power play goals in his previous nine NHL seasons and has missed only 12 games in his last five years. In that same time period, Brunette has recorded at least 15 goals in each season.
