Forsberg to Play Versus Flames

Swedish Forward Will Suit Up Against Calgary

By Craig Stancher
The Colorado Avalanche will be bolstered by the return of Peter Forsberg during Monday night's game against the Calgary Flames.

After taking part in a full practice Sunday at Family Sports Center and participating in today's morning skate, the Ornskoldsvik, Sweden, native pronounced himself ready to return to the lineup.

"It should be exciting to get back again. It’s tough to sit out, especially like this at the end of the year," said Forsberg. "It feels great to be back and to be in the mix again. We’re playing for two big points tonight."

Monday’s game will mark the eighth and final meeting of the regular season between the clubs, with Colorado winning four of the first seven matchups. The results between the Avs and Flames have been a bit strange this year, with a trio of three-goal games being sandwiched in between four games decided by one goal.
