PERSONAL
Shane’s uncle, Dennis O’Brien, played 592 games in the NHL, mostly with the Minnesota North Stars… Dennis spent part of the 1977-78 season with the Colorado Rockies…Shane served as a celebrity waiter at the Sporting Affair Celebrity Waiters Dinner in March of 2012, which raised money for Make-A-Wish Colorado…In January of 2012, Shane visited Girls Inc., an organization which inspires all girls to be “strong, smart and bold,” as part of the Avalanche’s Team Fit community program…Spends the off season training in Newport Beach, Calif.
