Sports Equipment Drive
More than 25,000 new and gently used sports equipment, $11,000 in cash donations and $30,000 in scholarship funds were collected at Pepsi Center on Saturday, Sept. 8, to benefit "A Precious Child" and the "Jessica Ghawi Scholarship Fund." Avalanche goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere and defenseman Jan Hejda were on hand to help, as were several current and former Denver Nuggets players and Jamie Shewchuk from the Colorado Mammoth.
