The annual Colorado Avalanche Charity Brunch, hosted by the Avs Better Halves, was held today at the Hyatt Regency in the Denver Tech Center. The sold-out event raised in excess of $60,000 for local children’s charities.
This annual heart-warming event also included a silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind gift baskets filled with Avalanche players’ “favorite things” and a buffet brunch served by Avalanche players and coaches. The day’s highlight was the fashion show pairing Avalanche players and coaches with special Ambassadors from The Children’s Hospital. Since 1997, the Colorado Avalanche Charity Brunch alone has raised over $1 million for local children’s charities.
“This is one of the best days of the season. When the schedule comes out, we circle this day in red,” said Deb Dowling, Vice President of Community Relations for Kroenke Sports Enterprises. “The unique bond between the Avs players, coaches, the Avs Better Halves and the kids from The Children’s Hospital Colorado is always very special. To see the kids walk down the runway with the players, with smiles on their faces, just makes it an amazing day for everyone involved. The involvement and generosity of our sponsors and fans made this a very successful fundraiser.”
Since 1995, the Colorado Avalanche Charity Fund has made donations in excess of $12 million to local charities that promote the health and welfare of children and families throughout Colorado. The Colorado Avalanche Charity Fund, part of the Kroenke Sports Charities, was recognized nationally in 2001 for its philanthropic endeavors.
